Google Docs can't do what now?? What? 512K file limit? How am I supposed to compulsively check my wordcount if my file is in two parts? IT WOULD INVOLVE MATH!!!

I think my hands are going to fall off soon. I also think I freaked out a customer today by attempting to cool my wrists on metal parts of the conference table while we talked job specification. I also might have screamed a little when a translation job landed on my desk. Coding I can deal with, it's not so much straight typing, but five pages of text on Cyprus cuisine? Before lunch? It's like my boss isn't really committed to me getting my story to 50K!

I am so tempted to terminate this exploration of joint and muscle pain, but the story just got to this really good bit. And it's only a week to go anyway...

I have insomnia again and whenever I manage to drift off I have dreams that are WW2 themed. DO NOT WANT.

Oh man I drank a pint of milk out of the bottle while typing this. I didn't even mean to, just zoned out a bit. Stupid insomnia. I wonder if I can zone out over my NaNo and write a few pages without noticing? Also, what is up with stalling on SHOWER SCENE of all things? I am bitterly disappointed in me!

The first signs of incoming office apocalypse are here. Today the sales guy started swearing at development guy down the phone, and the dev guy hung up on him. We're professional like Christian Bale down here (also LOL). The dev people are now huddled up behind their circled wagons, bitching and planning our next move. It's jarring because it had been so mellow lately, it must have been about four years since anyone had a fistfight in the server room. 

Thankfully, we have a Frisbee in the room to soothe us, and also the Internets.

My NaNo somehow turned into a horror story and now I'm afraid to write it D:

Stunningly, I'm still keeping up with my NaNo project! When I first heard of that whole "write 50K a month, don't worry if it's crap" idea I wondered what could it be possibly useful for. Self-liberation, meditative experience, way too feed your inner English major while still appeasing the logic half-brain that likes numbers and winning? Way to experiment with long-term sleep deprivation without the distraction of the impending exam doom, which is the usual companion to most sleep-dep experiments?

I'm going with a fanfic! Unabashedly! There is no way I can write 50k while wallowing in wangst of my original themes. Besides, Merlin is so hot.

As always, November is really bad timing for this. Work is end-of-year crazy, with great possibility of having to work overtime, and I need to send all the xmas presents to my family before December if I want them there on time. And I just bought some awesome knitting yarn and got the perfect pattern that would look so hot on me. And I just installed Fallout 3! I'm still in the Vault! And my World of Warcraft guild just started working through The Trial of The Grand Crusader, and if I'm not there I might lose my spot for the siege of the Icecrown in January. And I'm following about 12 TV shows this year...

Also it just came to my attention that I might be kind of a total dork?

Anyway, tomorrow will be a Writing Day. I'm excited to see how that goes.

I had a dream today that me and my husband travelled back in time and I accidentally killed Stalin.

I mean, really accidentally. We were in Kremlin for some completely unrelated reason, stealing some stuff, and Stalin walked in on us and I got spooked and overreacted a bit.

I remember crying in my husband's arms in that dream, and him telling me "It's okay, it's 1953, the history won't get altered much" and me saying "Oh, okay, I guess. What should we do about the body?"

Thanks for that, brain. I was still worried about forensic evidence when I woke up.

I had the most excellent weekend. Totally worth a post after months of not-posting.

Firstly, I was firmly refused service at a liquor store. Which, on the eve of my 9th wedding anniversary, was pretty sweet actually.

Secondly, my husband accidentally dyed his hair purple.

Okay, this might need context.

After discovering that he's been left in the state of having no beer because, to some insane but lovely person, his wife apparently looks barely legal, he decided it was time to cover some greys. So he grabbed some darkish-looking dye while on a beer run, failed to read the label and generally suspected nothing till he was already rinsing it off and heard me shouting through the bathroom door: "Oh hey, what made you go for 'Plum', anyway?"

It turned out awesome, you guys. It made his eyes look so incredibly green! Also, purple, it seems, somehow is the answer to both my dark hair and red hair fetishes. Guh. Sadly, he doesn't think this lovely vibrant look would be compatible with his job as a project manager for government contracts. He'd still let me enjoy it all weekend, and after I went to sleep yesterday he dyed it again.

This morning he called me at the office and asked me to pick up some bleach and more hair dye. Ahaha. Well, in the immortal words of my ex, uttered some minutes after he recklessly asked me to trim his bangs, there is one hair style that's never too late to try.

Also: springtime!!!

Some of you guys might have heard about my love for my local band called Team Waterpolo. In fact some of you might have wanted to strangle me so I shut up about them already.

Team Waterpolo just signed a 4-album deal with Sony Epic.

So yeah I've been having a weird time, and it felt like anything I had to say was of questionable value and zomg boring, but today is the day when I don't care!
